Bathroom Window

A bathroom window can be recognized as both a function piece and an interior decoration.  Just like bathroom doors, changes can be incorporate into them in order to add aesthetic value to a home.  Just as long as a design do not cause home heating problems, it can be anything that a home owner chooses.  A homeowner can use different glass materials as well as window treatments to enhance a bathroom window.

Functional Windows

A homeowner is usually given more opportunities for interior decoration when the size of the window is large.  A window however, should not only be structured to follow interior decorations whims of a homeowner.  There is a technical side to constructing homes and windows should be functional pieces.

A bathroom window should be large or small enough to keep heat inside the room.  There are climate and temperature factors to consider when dealing with a bathroom opening or window.  A large window covered with a thin glass can cause a homeowner heating problems during the cooler months or privacy issues.

The bathroom is perhaps the interior part of the house that receives a lot of moisture.  This coupled with the wrong humidity levels can cause fungi problems to a rise.  Aside from size and design, a window should also be able to control moisture levels inside.

The Best Window Treatments

Window treatments are not just limited to curtains.  There are a lot more treatment options that a homeowner can work with and blend into several bathroom designs.  Changing the windows can be one of the first options that a homeowner can consider.  Block glass windows are becoming more popular for bathroom window treatments since they allow homeowners to expand windows and allow natural light to come yet not compromising indoor heating.  If on the other hand, a homeowner wishes more privacy, Venetian blinds can be an option instead.

Shutters can also be a great accent for a bath window.  The wood on the shutters can add a touch of nature to a bathroom while still allowing a homeowner the option of closing and opening the window from the inside.  Of course, a homeowner still has the option of using curtains the traditional way or as a Roman shade, valance or Austrian shade.

Interior design is not just limited to paint, furniture and fixtures.  Remodeling and redesigning windows can also add aesthetic value indoors.  Window treatments can range from changing the glass, using shutters and window shades.
